Machine Supervisor – Fresh Potato Packing

About the role

Albert Bartlett, a British family brand established in 1948 and focused on quality potatoes, is recruiting Machine Supervisors for its fresh potato packing site in Boston, Lincolnshire. Working in a busy production environment, the supervisor delivers performance through processes and machinery, shares specialist knowledge to improve efficiency, manages a small group of staff and takes responsibility for production paperwork and packed product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily machine operations so that production goals and quality standards are met
• Lead a small team, managing rotation and efficiency of staff
• Carry out regular inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery to reduce downtime
• Work with production management to coordinate workflow
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment
• Maintain accurate records of production output, machine settings and maintenance activities

Required profile

• Experience in a manufacturing or food production environment
• Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to machine operation
• Effective communication skills with staff and management

Required skills

• Experience operating Vertical Form Fill and Seal (VFFS) machinery and multihead weighers is beneficial, though full training is given
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to operational challenges

• Pay of £13.96 per hour once full training is provided, starting at £13.46 per hour
