Maintenance Engineer – Electrical & Mechanical (Witham)

About the role

Our client, a leading UK manufacturer, is looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer with both electrical and mechanical expertise to join their modern facility in Witham, Essex. The role involves supporting production lines, ensuring equipment reliability and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide maintenance support to production teams.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on plant assets.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and instrumentation faults.
• Fault‑find on industrial machinery and equipment.
• Assist with dismantling, re‑assembly and improvement works on production equipment.
• Respond to call‑outs and occasional weekend work when machine downtime occurs.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a multi‑skilled Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong electrical fault‑finding ability and solid mechanical maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of PLCs is advantageous.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible approach to support operational requirements.
