Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a well‑established manufacturing company in Witham. The role involves autonomous work within a small team, focusing on planned preventative maintenance and repairs of processing machinery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide front‑line maintenance support to the shift operations team.
• Maintain machinery at designed output efficiency through electrical, instrumentation and mechanical fault finding.
• Dismantle and re‑assemble production equipment as required.
• Carry out regular planned preventative maintenance (PPM), scheduled maintenance and improvement works.
• Support flexible working hours to meet operational demand.

Required profile

• Qualified in Electrical Engineering (e.g., Level 3 Diploma, NVQ 3, HNC, 18th Edition, City & Guilds 2382).
• Multi‑skilled in both electrical and mechanical maintenance.
• Proven track record of electrical fault finding, preferably with PLC knowledge.
• Experience working on machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Self‑motivated and able to work effectively within a team.
