Maintenance Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Maintenance Manager to lead routine maintenance, repair and installation activities at Cygnet Hospital Beckton. You will combine on‑site technical work with office‑based management to ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient estate.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute routine maintenance, repairs and installations in line with health and safety legislation.
• Oversee refurbishment projects and maintain accurate estates records.
• Provide line management, budgeting and performance oversight for the maintenance team.
• Develop and implement robust management and accountability systems according to the Cygnet Estates Manual.
• Ensure all building maintenance, including contract work, meets statutory standards and specifications.

Required profile

• Proven experience in the building trade or estates management.
• Budget management and supervisory experience.
• Strong awareness of H&S, COSHH and RIDDOR regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work as an active member of a hospital team and understand mental‑health environment risks.
