Maintenance Operative – Temporary (6 weeks) in Oxford

About the role

We are seeking a proactive, hands‑on Maintenance Operative for a six‑week temporary assignment supporting student accommodation in Oxford. You will ensure the property remains safe, well‑maintained and welcoming for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out reactive repairs and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks.
• Perform painting, decorating and general upkeep throughout shared spaces and apartments.
• Conduct health and safety compliance checks, including fire alarm testing, emergency lighting inspections and legionella testing.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and safety records.
• Support inspections, events and other site activities, providing a friendly service to residents.

Required profile

• Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities or a similar role.
• Proficiency in painting, decorating and general repairs.
• Good understanding of health and safety and compliance requirements.
• Organised, proactive and detail‑oriented with strong communication skills.
