Management Accountant / Assistant Management Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant to join a fast‑growing business in Burnley. The successful candidate will become an integral part of a supportive finance team, handling month‑end processes and producing management accounts across several entities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare month‑end journals, including accruals, pre‑payments and deferred income.
• Produce management accounts and related financial reports.
• Execute month‑end routines such as profit and loss reporting and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed‑asset registers and calculate depreciation.
• Manage inter‑company transactions, journals, transfers and reconciliations.
• Support VAT return preparation and associated reporting.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase finance efficiency.

Required profile

• AAT qualification (minimum) or equivalent experience.
• At least three years of experience preparing or assisting with management accounts.
• Strong analytical ability and high attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
