Management Accountant – Housing & Social Enterprise

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Management Accountant to join our finance team at YMCA North Tyneside. The role supports our housing division, social enterprise and subsidiary, helping to deliver financial excellence in a community‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, organisational KPIs and contribute to the 30‑year financial plan and regulatory returns.
• Manage technical accounting for housing income streams, calculate rents and service charges, and ensure compliance with the Social Housing Rent Standard.
• Partner with internal departments and local authority Housing Benefit teams to provide accurate reporting.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and support budgeting, forecasting and statutory audit processes.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified accountant or qualified by relevant experience.
• Direct experience within supported or social housing.
• Proactive, flexible mindset with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
