Management Accountant

About the role

AAB is seeking a Management Accountant to take full ownership of the monthly management accounting cycle for its hotel portfolio in Glasgow. You will work within the Hotels department, supporting clients with financial reporting, VAT compliance and audit preparation while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly management accounting cycle for the assigned hotel portfolio.
• Review management accounting packs, analysing profit & loss and balance sheet variances and identifying risks.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly VAT returns and support VAT inspections.
• Coach and develop the Finance Assistant, improving daily process efficiency.
• Manage bank reconciliation and accounts payable controls, resolving outstanding issues.
• Prepare year‑end audit files and liaise with external auditors.
• Maintain compliance with policies, procedures and audit requirements through robust controls.
• Drive continuous improvement by generating ideas to enhance processes and controls.
• Respond to ad‑hoc queries from hotel and client teams.
• Assist Financial Controllers in developing systems and process controls.
