Management Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join a growing specialist engineering and manufacturing business in Paignton. You will work closely with the Board, senior management and operational teams to deliver accurate financial information and commercial insight that drives performance and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit & loss, balance sheet and cash flow reports.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial planning activities.
• Monitor manufacturing and project costs, margins, overheads, labour and stock.
• Support job costing, product costing and profitability analysis.
• Collaborate with operational teams to improve cost visibility and inform commercial decisions.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting, working capital management and financial controls.
• Develop management information, KPIs and reporting for senior leadership.
• Contribute to improvements in finance systems, processes and reporting.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified finance professional.
• Strong background in management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis.
• Experience in a manufacturing, engineering or similarly complex operational environment is highly advantageous.
• Ability to work confidently with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Proficiency with Xero accounting software.
