Management Accountant – Manufacturing (Ayrshire)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join a leading manufacturing business in Ayrshire. Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will provide high‑quality financial reporting, commercial insight, and operational analysis to drive performance across the operation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
• Conduct variance analysis and performance reporting to support key decisions.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Provide financial analysis that underpins operational and commercial performance.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Partner with operational teams to improve cost control and financial understanding.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and maintain financial accuracy.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and reporting.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Management Accountant or in a similar finance role.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly advantageous.
• Knowledge of costing and inventory accounting is a distinct advantage.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ICAS) or qualified by experience.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
