Manager, Controller – Finance (Europe)

About the role

The Manager, Controller will join Mastercard Europe’s Finance division and lead US GAAP and statutory reporting, rebates & incentives, and pricing & billing operations for an assigned European division. Reporting to the Director, Controller, the role oversees a small team and works closely with finance, legal, and commercial partners.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review US GAAP financial statements and ensure statutory reporting compliance across Europe.
• Oversee the accounting treatment of rebates, incentives, and revenue recognition in partnership with the Global Business Shared Services Centre.
• Provide complex accounting advice, challenge treatments, and communicate guidance to regional finance teams.
• Participate in drafting and reviewing customer business agreements to secure proper accounting treatment.
• Coordinate with FP&A, Business Development Finance, Legal, Account Managers, and Regional Finance on financial and commercial processes.
• Report financial results to the Corporate Controllers Group in New York.
• Support implementation of new pricing in the billing system and manage related billing and pricing matters.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with US GAAP and European statutory reporting.
• Strong background in accounting for rebates, incentives, and revenue recognition.
• Proven ability to provide complex accounting guidance and work cross‑functionally.
• Experience reviewing and influencing contract language for accounting purposes.
• Leadership experience managing direct reports.
