Managing Director – Commercial Insurance Broking (Leeds)

About the role

The Managing Director will lead an established cross‑class commercial insurance operation in Leeds, overseeing a portfolio of approximately £50 million Gross Written Premium (GWP) and a team of 35 brokers. This senior role offers full authority, resources and financial incentives to drive growth, improve efficiency and expand the business.

Key responsibilities

• Protect and develop the existing £50 m GWP portfolio.
• Lead, support and retain a 35‑person broking team.
• Define and execute a clear strategy for sustainable organic growth.
• Strengthen relationships with key clients, insurers and introducers.
• Recruit experienced insurance professionals and manage book transfers.
• Maintain high technical, operational and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Managing Director, Regional Director or senior commercial insurance leader.
• Demonstrated ability to manage people, clients and financial performance.
• Strong commercial judgement and cross‑class broking expertise.
• Capability to lead an established team with minimal disruption.
