Manufacturing Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Manufacturing Accountant to join an international manufacturing group in Telford. Reporting to the FP&A Manager, you will support analysis and control of plant costs and ensure accurate product costing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month-end inventory processes, including provisions, valuations, adjustments, write-offs and returns in line with UK and US GAAP.
• Maintain and simplify BOMs, update standard costs and ensure correct product pricing.
• Lead inventory counts, coordinate with auditors at year-end and drive stronger inventory control.
• Prepare analyses of COGS, operational variances, profit margins, inventory and manufacturing variances.
• Support actuals performance review, forecasting, budgeting and monthly balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Identify opportunities to improve inventory control and reduce write-offs.

Required profile

• Experience in a finance role within a manufacturing environment.
• Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, CIMA).
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

What we offer

• Competitive salary £40,000-£45,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
