Marketing Controller (FMCG Food & Beverage)

About the role

The Advocate Group is recruiting, on behalf of a leading food and beverage business, a commercially driven and strategically minded Marketing Controller. The role plays a key part in shaping and delivering the UK marketing agenda, combining strategic leadership with commercial delivery. It suits an experienced FMCG marketer who wants to own a significant portfolio and influence brand, category and commercial growth. The position is full-time, hybrid, based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, at £80k per year.

Key responsibilities

• Help shape and deliver the UK marketing strategy across the portfolio
• Lead the development and execution of brand and commercial marketing plans
• Turn consumer, shopper, market and category insight into actionable growth opportunities
• Work closely with Sales and commercial teams to align customers and execution
• Support innovation, activation and communications plans
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Lead, coach and develop marketing talent
• Use market and performance data to find opportunities and drive continuous improvement

Required profile

• Proven experience in a similar level Marketing Manager/Controller role in Food or Beverages FMCG
• Experience in matrix organisations (desirable)
• Strong understanding of brand, consumer and shopper marketing
• Ability to connect marketing activity to business growth
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with Sales, Category and wider commercial teams
• Strategic thinker who can also drive execution
• Confident influencing senior stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
• Previous experience leading, coaching or developing others
