Material Controller

About the role

MPI is seeking a Material Controller to join its team in Goole, England. The role is full‑time, onsite and initially offered on a six‑month fixed‑term basis. You will be responsible for managing material flow, supplier relationships and stock control across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage order books and requisitions as part of the material planning process.
• Engage with suppliers, request updates, handle overdue timeframes and resolve difficult supplier issues.
• Mitigate planning issues, forecast demand and schedule deliveries accordingly.
• Control high volumes of stock and monitor industry KPIs such as unsatisfied demand and delivery time.
• Utilise SAP for daily order management, cost tracking and supply‑chain activities.
• Work with MRP/ERP systems to ensure accurate material data.
• Analyse data using Power BI and Excel to support decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing material orders and stock control.
• Strong background in supplier engagement and issue resolution.
• Ability to forecast demand and handle planning queries.
• Experience working with high‑volume inventory environments.

Required skills

• SAP (advanced use for order and cost management).
• MRP/ERP software.
• Power BI.
• Microsoft Excel.

What we offer

• Six‑month initial contract with the possibility of extension.
• Salary range £33,000‑£35,000 per annum.
• 40‑hour work week, fully onsite in Goole.
