Material Controller – Stores

About the role

The Materials Controller – Stores will join the Operations team of an established aerospace manufacturing business. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, you will ensure accurate receipt, storage, kitting and dispatch of components while maintaining strict traceability and supporting production and repair schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Receive components and materials from customers and suppliers, verify goods‑in documentation and inspect deliveries.
• Pick, kit and issue components against Works Orders to meet production and repair turnaround times.
• Maintain full traceability of materials throughout operations, completing receipts, put‑aways, bookings and dispatch transactions.
• Process daily picks, Works Orders and subcontract movements, monitoring shelf‑life‑controlled items.
• Identify kit shortages, stock discrepancies and opportunities to reduce excess inventory.
• Ensure all paperwork complies with the Business Management System and relevant quality standards.
• Provide flexible support across Stores, Goods‑In and Dispatch as operational priorities shift.

Required profile

• Previous experience in stores, goods‑in, dispatch or material control within manufacturing or engineering.
• Strong understanding of stock movements, material handling and documentation control.
• Ability to maintain accurate traceability in a regulated or quality‑controlled environment.
• Excellent time‑management, organisational and workload‑prioritisation skills.
• Clear communication and the ability to work effectively with Production, Quality, Purchasing and Logistics teams.

Required skills

• Experience using an MRP or ERP system.
