Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant

About the role
We are looking for a recent Maths graduate to join our school in Slough as a Teaching Assistant. This full‑time, term‑time position offers hands‑on classroom experience and the chance to support students in developing their mathematical skills.
Key responsibilities
- Support students during maths lessons, both one‑to‑one and in small groups.
- Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management.
- Help students understand mathematical concepts and complete set work.
- Provide additional support to pupils with special educational needs or learning difficulties.
- Encourage student engagement, confidence, and positive behaviour.
- Prepare learning materials and support differentiated activities.
- Monitor student progress and give feedback to teaching staff.
Required profile
- A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
- Genuine interest in education and supporting young people.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a classroom team.
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to commute to Slough.
