M&BD Manager - Disputes (Fixed-Term, 18 Months)

About the role

Hogan Lovells, a leading global disputes firm with more than 3,100 lawyers in 38 offices, is recruiting an M&BD Manager for its Disputes practice group in London. The role helps drive the practice's strategy, focusing on litigation areas, and works with disputes partners, sector groups and other team members to develop and implement M&BD plans. It is an 18-month fixed-term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Work with heads of practice and partners to develop business and M&BD plans, deliver market analysis and monitor budgets and progress
• Lead pitches, identify new business opportunities and support client-facing programmes
• Run marketing campaigns and thought leadership projects, including seminars, client events and targeted communications
• Manage internal reporting, maintain pitch materials and run M&BD training sessions for partners, lawyers and non-fee earners
• Manage and contribute to wider M&BD projects and liaise with global M&BD colleagues
• Provide line management for one team member based in Birmingham or London, and advise and support other M&BD colleagues globally

Required profile

• Previous experience in a business development role in a legal or similar professional services firm
• Knowledge of disputes lawyers and experience working with them
• Familiarity with banking and wider financial services is advantageous
• Previous line management experience
• Collaborative, influential and pragmatic, with strong written and verbal communication and project management skills

What we offer

• 35 hours per week, 9:30am to 5:30pm, with up to 40% of time working from home under a hybrid arrangement
