Mechanical Design Engineer – Wearable Medical Devices

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an emerging wearable medical technology company. The role will focus on designing, developing and validating mechanical systems for next‑generation wearable devices, supporting the transition from concept to market‑ready products.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for wearable medical devices from concept through to production.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Support prototyping, testing and iterative design activities across the product lifecycle.
• Apply structured medical device development processes, including design control, risk management and verification & validation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external suppliers to ensure designs meet manufacturing and quality requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in mechanical design within MedTech or a regulated product development environment.
• Proficiency in CAD, preferably SolidWorks, with experience producing detailed engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes relevant to wearable devices, including plastics, elastomers and precision assembly.
• Understanding of structured product development processes, including exposure to design control and risk management methodologies (e.g., FMEA).
