Mechanical Engineer – Water Treatment Assets

About the role
South West Water is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to maintain and repair water treatment assets, pumping stations and reservoirs across the South West. The role involves hands‑on problem solving, ensuring reliable service for communities and supporting environmental safety.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out reactive maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment.
- Manufacture and fabricate parts and equipment as required.
- Provide detailed specifications for replacement parts.
- Assist operational teams with complex problem‑solving.
- Ensure safety compliance using method statements and RAMS.
- Participate in standby/call‑out rota.
Required profile
- Completed apprenticeship in a relevant technical discipline.
- Full understanding of RAMS to deliver an effective and safe maintenance regime.
- Experience with wastewater treatment processes (desirable).
- Ability to fault find and repair large, complex mechanical equipment.
