About the role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to work on transmissions, gearboxes and driveline systems for marine, plant and agricultural applications. The role is workshop‑based in Sittingbourne, supporting both customer repairs and new‑build projects for a global engineering company.
Key responsibilities
- Strip, inspect and rebuild gearboxes, torque converters, axles and related mechanical components.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to a high standard.
- Carry out fitting, assembly and testing of transmission and driveline systems.
- Support refurbishment, overhaul and new‑build projects within the workshop.
- Occasionally travel to customer sites when required.
Required profile
- Background in marine, plant, agricultural or heavy mechanical engineering.
- Experience working on transmissions, gearboxes, driveline or propulsion systems.
- Ability to work on Monday‑to‑Friday schedule in a workshop environment.
- Willingness to commute to Sittingbourne.
