Mechanical Fitter – Metrology & Aerospace

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a leading metrology and calibration provider serving the aerospace sector. The role involves assembling, wiring and commissioning bespoke rotary tables and inspection systems for high‑profile clients such as Rolls‑Royce, GE Aerospace and NASA.

Key responsibilities

• Mechanical assembly of rotary tables and inspection equipment.
• Electrical wiring, integration and basic fault finding during build.
• Calibration of finished units to ISO and internal quality standards.
• Conducting Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and preparing equipment for dispatch.
• Traveling globally to install, commission, service and calibrate systems at customer sites.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults both in‑house and on‑site.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in precision engineering or aerospace.
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in mechanical/electrical engineering.
• Full UK driving licence.
