Mechanical / Fuel Systems Installation Design Engineer

About the role

Guidant Global, in partnership with Airbus, is seeking a Mechanical / Fuel Systems Installation Design Engineer to join a high‑performing Wing Engineering Design team based in Filton. The role involves working on a diverse portfolio of Airbus aircraft programmes and innovative research projects, delivering end‑to‑end design solutions for installation components.

Key responsibilities

• Support the full design lifecycle from concept through manufacturing and assembly.
• Design and validate installation components and assemblies, optimising weight, cost and performance.
• Produce complete Definition Dossiers for manufacturing and assembly.
• Deliver technical studies, trade‑offs and investigations in line with Airbus design standards.
• Support product development programmes, including modification introductions and in‑service fleet requirements.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, manufacturing teams and suppliers to ensure successful delivery.

Required profile

• Strong practical design experience with a collaborative approach.
• Proven 3‑D CAD design capability.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in an agile environment.
• Experience in aerospace or related sectors such as hydraulics systems or landing gear is desirable.
