Mechanical Inspectors (CMM & Manual) – Senior or Junior

About the role

We are seeking Mechanical Inspectors to join a growing subcontract precision‑engineering business in Abbots Langley. The permanent positions are available at senior and junior levels and involve inspecting high‑precision components using both coordinate‑measuring‑machine (CMM) and manual techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect mechanical parts and assemblies against drawings and quality standards.
• Perform manual measurements with gauges, micrometres and other precision tools.
• Complete and review First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
• Operate CMM equipment to verify product conformity.
• Program CMM routines (PC‑DMIS preferred) where required.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production to resolve inspection findings and non‑conformances.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• Experience with manual measurement equipment and ability to read engineering drawings.
• GD&T knowledge is advantageous.
• For senior role: proven CMM programming experience.
• For junior role: willingness to learn CMM programming and develop inspection skills.
• Legal right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship).
