Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

About the role

This newly created position offers the chance to play a key role in improving plant reliability, equipment performance and continuous improvement initiatives within a highly automated manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will provide mechanical and hydraulic engineering support across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out fault‑finding, reliability improvement and maintenance on critical production equipment.
• Lead and support engineering projects, equipment upgrades and commissioning activities.
• Drive continuous improvement and minimise downtime across the facility.
• Provide mechanical and hydraulic engineering support to the wider site team.

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering qualification.
• Experience in a manufacturing, process or heavy‑industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, gearboxes, conveyors and rotating equipment.
• Proven experience in fault‑finding, preventative maintenance and root‑cause analysis.
• Experience in continuous manufacturing and plant reliability improvement is advantageous.

What we offer

• Salary up to £60,000 per year.
• Monday‑Friday, 07:00‑17:00 (47.5 hours/week).
• 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
