Metal Polisher / Finisher (Shift)

About the role

Gap Technical is seeking a Metal Polisher / Finisher to join a global manufacturing business at its facility near Hatfield/Welwyn Garden City. The role works on a Monday‑Friday shift (6am‑2pm or 10am‑6pm) and offers competitive pay plus overtime.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out specific polishing and trimming operations on metal components.
• Operate grinding, drilling, punching machines and band saws safely and efficiently.
• Use measuring tools such as Vernier calipers, protractors and micrometers to verify dimensions.
• Maintain a safe working environment and report any health & safety deviations immediately.
• Perform basic self‑inspection of work and equipment.

Required profile

• Health & Safety training with a good understanding of safety practices for polishing and spraying machines.
• Knowledge of polishing lathes and various polishing equipment.
• Experience working in a metal polishing or trimming environment.
