Mid-level Software Engineer – Backend (Belfast)

About the role

We are seeking a mid‑level Software Engineer to join our Belfast team and help evolve a high‑scale digital platform that processes millions of bookings and transactions each year. You will work in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment, taking ownership of features that directly impact our customers and the platform’s reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, production‑grade backend systems and APIs.
• Build and enhance services that power web and mobile applications.
• Contribute to system architecture and technical design discussions.
• Write high‑quality code supported by automated testing.
• Support platform reliability, performance, security, and observability.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and engineering teams.
• Participate in code reviews and help raise engineering standards.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong backend development skills using modern languages and frameworks.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Experience with cloud‑based or distributed environments.
• Comfortable writing automated tests and working within CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and clear communication.
