Midday Supervisor - Special School

About the role

Chiltern Wood School, a special school in High Wycombe supporting over 200 students aged 4 to 19 across three sites (Cressex, Downley and Studley Green), is recruiting Midday Supervisors. The work covers four hours a day, Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm, including supervision during the lunch period. The salary is in the Buckinghamshire pay range 1b.6 to 1b.10.

Key responsibilities

• Support the classes for 4 hours per day, 10am to 2pm, including supervision over the lunch period.
• Contribute to meeting the special educational needs of children in the High Wycombe area.
• Help build positive relationships with pupils, their families and supporting professionals so that each child can develop communication, physical, social and emotional skills.

Required profile

• Previous experience is not essential, as full training is provided.
• Experience of a play-based approach would be beneficial.
• Applicants must be willing to undergo full vetting checks, including an enhanced disclosure of criminal records, and to complete a self-disclosure form before interview.
• Applicants who are barred from regulated activity involving children cannot apply.
