Mig/TIG Welder

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a MIG/TIG Welder based in Bedford on a long‑term temporary contract. The role involves welding thin‑gauge aluminium and fabricating sheet‑metal components for architectural and structural applications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on approximately 2 mm aluminium, delivering precise, high‑quality welds.
• Fabricate and assemble sheet‑metal parts such as staircases, balustrades and handrails.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans.
• Operate workshop equipment including cutting, bending and finishing tools.
• Inspect and finish welded items to meet quality and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised work area and report any faults.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a MIG/TIG welder, particularly with thin‑gauge aluminium.
• Strong sheet‑metal fabrication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Good teamwork, communication and a proactive attitude.
