Mobile Software Engineer

About the role

Cauli is looking for a Mobile Software Engineer to help build the infrastructure that makes reusable packaging as easy as disposable. You will work closely with the Head of Technology on both consumer‑facing and client‑facing apps, shaping a product that tackles the UK’s packaging waste problem.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain mobile applications, including the Kotlin‑based point‑of‑sale client app.
• Lead the migration of separate iOS and Android apps into a unified Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) codebase.
• Build a lightweight web app integrated with Apple and Google Wallets for container tracking.
• Contribute to backend work in PHP/Laravel when needed.
• Occasionally support smart‑bin hardware software running on Linux SBCs with Python.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of professional mobile engineering experience with shipped products.
• Strong Android development background or hands‑on experience with Kotlin Multiplatform.
• Passion for clean, production‑quality code and mission‑driven work.
• Comfortable working across Android and iOS targets (deep iOS expertise not required).
