Mobile Software Engineer – Kotlin Multiplatform

About the role

Join Cauli, the UK’s largest reusable packaging provider, as the lead mobile engineer. You will drive the migration of native iOS and Android applications into a unified Kotlin Multiplatform codebase while delivering new features for both consumer‑facing and client‑facing apps.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain mobile applications using Kotlin, including a point‑of‑sale client app and consumer tools.
• Architect and execute the transition to a single Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) codebase across iOS and Android.
• Integrate lightweight web components with Apple Wallet and Google Wallet for container tracking.
• Collaborate closely with the Head of Tech and contribute to backend services built with PHP/Laravel.
• Occasionally support Python code for Linux‑based smart‑bin hardware.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of professional mobile engineering experience with production‑grade Kotlin.
• Strong native Android development background and interest in Kotlin Multiplatform.
• Comfortable working across both Android and iOS targets.
• Startup mindset – willing to touch backend code and hardware integrations while maintaining clean, production‑quality code.
