Monitoring Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Monitoring Engineer to join EKFB’s Instrumentation and Monitoring team on the Greatworth‑to‑Southam section of the HS2 project. The role involves supporting the installation, commissioning and quality assurance of monitoring systems in line with design specifications and monitoring statements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Instrumentation and Monitoring Coordinator (IMC) in producing Contractor Monitoring Plans for each asset.
• Ensure monitoring system installation follows designer specifications and monitoring statements.
• Verify that quality‑assurance processes for commissioning and testing are adhered to and that all related documentation meets required standards.
• Monitor subcontractor work programmes, ensuring they align with main‑works expectations.
• Liaise with EKFB personnel to secure permits, licences and material availability.
• Prepare and provide monitoring data, status updates and trigger‑level reports for review meetings and the Project Manager.

Required profile

• Proven experience in site investigation (geotechnical investigation) or in installing and managing instrumentation and monitoring systems.
• Previous work on large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Valid driving licence.
