Mortgage Adviser - SPF Private Clients

About the role

Howden's Employee Benefits team is looking for a Mortgage Adviser to deliver regulated mortgage advice to new and existing clients within its SPF Private Clients division. All leads are provided, so the focus is on advising clients and delivering results. The role is based in London and is permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clear, professional mortgage advice and gather client information to complete full needs analyses.
• Prepare and present compliant, suitable recommendations and reports, adhering to FCA requirements and company compliance policies.
• Log all client interactions accurately and promptly.
• Work with the Supervisor on a business development plan, build relationships with clients and introducers, and review client circumstances for ongoing advice opportunities.
• Follow procedures for submitting business and managing client files, keeping records and data accurate and completing remedial actions on time.
• Complete CPD and take part in training programmes, keeping up to date with industry practice and regulatory changes.

Required profile

• CeMAP (Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice) or equivalent.
• Knowledge of the relevant FCA sourcebooks (PRIN, COCON, FIT, TC, GEN, DISP, MCOBS).
• Awareness of financial crime and AML requirements (SYSC, JMLSG guidance, Bribery Act).
• Previous experience in an employee benefits or similar financial services environment is highly desirable.
