About the role

Howden, a global insurance group with employee ownership, is recruiting a Wealth Adviser in London. The role provides high-quality financial planning and wealth management advice to clients while supervising and supporting advisers within the team. It contributes to strong regulatory standards, good client outcomes and consistent adherence to firm-wide processes, under the leadership of the Head of Wealth.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver holistic financial planning advice covering investments, pensions, protection and tax-efficient strategies
• Build and maintain long-term client relationships, conduct regular reviews and keep advice suitable and compliant
• Grow client portfolios and introduce additional services
• Ensure adherence to FCA regulations and internal compliance standards, keep accurate client records and support the risk management framework
• Contribute to business growth through referrals, new client acquisition, introducer relationships and networking events
• Supervise a defined group of wealth advisers, giving day-to-day guidance, coaching and mentoring, and help monitor compliance, file quality and process adherence
• Contribute to training and development and escalate material risks, issues or performance concerns to the Head of Wealth

Required profile

• Experience as a Wealth Adviser
• Strong technical knowledge of financial planning products and UK regulations
• Experience supervising, mentoring or supporting advisers
• Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (minimum requirement)
• Chartered Financial Planner status (or working towards) and an appropriate Statement of Professional Standing (SPS) are desirable
• Evidence of ongoing CPD and specialist qualifications such as pension transfers are desirable
