Motor Vehicle Technician – Full‑time Permanent

About the role

The Motor Vehicle Technician will join the Berkshire College of Agriculture campus to support practical teaching and learning for automotive courses. This full‑time permanent position works 37 hours per week and focuses on creating a safe, well‑organised workshop environment for students.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with student inductions and provide hands‑on support during practical sessions.
• Prepare equipment, tools, parts and consumables for lessons and demonstrations.
• Support lecturing staff with vehicle demonstrations, instruction and supervision.
• Maintain workshop safety by conducting risk assessments, following safe working practices and servicing all machinery.
• Keep practical learning areas clean, organised and stocked.
• Participate in college events such as parents’ evenings, recruitment fairs, trade shows and open days.

Required profile

• Level 3 qualification in a relevant automotive or engineering subject.
• Level 2 English and maths.
• Experience working in a workshop‑based environment.

Required skills

• Vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Workshop safety procedures and risk assessment.
• Equipment servicing and calibration.
