Multifunctional Water Operative – Islay & Jura

About the role

We are looking for a Multifunctional Water Operative to work across Islay and Jura, ensuring Scotland’s water remains pure and reliable. You will join an experienced team monitoring water quality at treatment works and pumping stations while supporting the wider network infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain water quality at treatment works and pumping stations.
• Support and maintain water network infrastructure across the islands.
• Carry out risk assessments and adhere to health and safety protocols.
• Participate in a 1:5 standby rota for out‑of‑hours cover.
• Produce clear and accurate reports using digital equipment and apps.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Willingness to travel throughout Islay and Jura.
• Full, valid driving licence.

Required skills

• Basic IT skills for using digital equipment and applications.
• Report writing ability to convey information clearly and quickly.
