Night Cleaning Operative

About the role

Join a busy shopping and leisure centre as a Night Cleaning Operative, responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the venue during night shifts. You will work independently and as part of a team to ensure all areas are spotless and ready for the next day.

Key responsibilities

• Clean mall floors, stairwells, and high‑touch points using hoovers and mops.
• Empty bins, collect litter, and manage waste using cardboard balers and waste compactors.
• Operate cleaning machinery such as jetwash units and scrubber‑dryers.
• Maintain and restock toilet consumables.
• Report any equipment issues or health‑safety concerns to the line manager.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and high cleaning standards.
• Ability to follow company policies, cleaning protocols and safety regulations.
• Good time‑keeping, reliable attendance and ability to work night shifts.
• Effective communication skills and willingness to support the team.

Required skills

• Operation of jetwash equipment.
• Use of scrubber‑dryer machines.
• Handling of cardboard balers and waste compactors.
• Hoovering and mopping techniques.
• Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Basic understanding of COSHH regulations.
