About the role
The Night Porter is the first point of contact for guests arriving after hours and is responsible for maintaining a smooth, safe and welcoming environment throughout the night. The role is offered on both full‑time and part‑time contracts, covering all night‑shift duties at the hotel.
Key responsibilities
- Welcome and check‑in guests, handling enquiries and requests with a professional attitude.
- Perform cash handling and reconciliation for night‑time transactions.
- Operate reception equipment and hotel management software efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in public areas, hallways and after‑event rooms.
- Prepare and deliver room service orders, including drinks and meals.
- Monitor security, report any suspicious activity and ensure fire and safety procedures are followed.
- Set up functions and breakfast arrangements for the following day.
- Assist the Night Manager with any additional tasks or emergencies.
Required profile
- Well‑presented, friendly and able to create a positive first impression.
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work night shifts.
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
- Willingness to follow health, safety, hygiene, fire and security regulations.
Required skills
- Cash handling and basic reconciliation.
- Basic computer operation and familiarity with reception software.
