Night Porter – Hotel Night Shift Role

About the role

The Night Porter provides essential front‑of‑house support during the overnight hours at a 4‑star hotel. Working closely with the Revenue Manager and Conference Manager, you will ensure smooth operations, accurate night‑audit reporting and a secure environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and break down function areas according to the next‑day function sheets.
• Complete night‑audit reports and financial reconciliations as required.
• Secure stocks, cash, consumables and bar equipment, complying with licensing laws.
• Deliver prompt, friendly bar service and handle room‑service orders.
• Manage guest complaints with professionalism and genuine care.
• Maintain tidy bar and banqueting areas, ensuring waste minimisation and stock control.
• Adhere to 4‑star standards, health‑and‑safety regulations and fire‑training requirements.
• Assist with cleanliness of banqueting areas and overall hotel tidiness.

Required profile

• Up‑to‑date knowledge of hotel products and services.
• Strong commitment to guest comfort, satisfaction and well‑being.
• Ability to follow company key and float control systems.
• Willingness to attend training, communication meetings and fire‑safety sessions.
• Reliability to commute to or relocate to Rochdale (OL11 2XZ) before starting.
