Night Shift Fettler/Polisher – Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Fettler/Polisher to join our night‑shift manufacturing team in Basildon. You will be responsible for refining metal components, ensuring they meet strict quality standards and supporting overall fabrication processes.

Key responsibilities

• Operate hand tools, grinding equipment and polishing machines to finish metal surfaces.
• Prepare sheet‑metal parts by removing burrs, sharp edges and surface imperfections.
• Assist with welding, assembly and basic tooling tasks as required.
• Inspect finished parts to verify compliance with tolerances and specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organised work area and follow all safety protocols.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines efficiently.

Required profile

• Prior experience in fabrication, grinding, welding or similar mechanical roles (preferred).
• Knowledge of sheet‑metal handling and use of hand tools.
• Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a fast‑paced team.
