Non-Nuclear Senior Support Engineer

About the role

Babcock is recruiting a Non-Nuclear Senior Support Engineer for its Devonport Royal Dockyard site in Plymouth, Devon. Working within the Non-Nuclear Plant Management team, the role supports the management, compliance, safety and long-term stewardship of non-nuclear assets, helping ensure critical infrastructure remains safe, compliant and fit for the future while supporting operational delivery and investment decisions.

The position is full time, 35 hours per week and based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard. The salary range is £33,900 to £42,400 plus benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Support engineering compliance, asset management and safety activities across non-nuclear plant assets.
• Carry out asset surveys, investigations and technical assessments to support informed decision-making.
• Manage asset registration, disposal, concessions and deviation processes in line with business requirements.
• Work with maintenance, project and operational teams to improve asset performance and compliance.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders on long-term infrastructure and investment strategies.

Required profile

• Demonstrable experience supporting asset management, maintenance or compliance-related activities.
• Understanding of engineering design principles and safe engineering practices.
• Awareness of relevant statutory legislation relating to non-nuclear assets.
• HND in an engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance; eligibility may depend on place of birth, nationality, citizenship and residency.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Maximo or similar Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) systems.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, working across a diverse engineering environment.
