Nursery Deputy Manager – 12 month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

Join Kloisters Kindergarten in Rochester as a Nursery Deputy Manager on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You will work closely with the Nursery Manager to create a safe, stimulating environment where children thrive and staff feel supported.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the safety and wellbeing of children, staff, parents and visitors at all times.
• Ensure compliance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework.
• Assist with medication administration and keep care plans up to date.
• Provide age‑appropriate, purposeful experiences and resources for children.
• Communicate effectively and consistently with children, families and team members.
• Inspire and lead the staff team, introducing creative ideas and challenges.
• Carry out any additional duties required for the smooth running of the nursery.

Required profile

• Level 3 childcare qualification (essential).
• At least 1 year of experience working in early years settings.
• Good knowledge of EYFS statutory framework and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in a management or supervisory role (desirable).
• Level 5 qualification in childcare or leadership (desirable).
• Experience of successfully passing an Ofsted inspection (desirable).
