Nursery Deputy Manager

About the role

Join Kloisters Kindergarten in Rochester as a Nursery Deputy Manager on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You will support the Nursery Manager in delivering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, while leading and inspiring the early years team.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children, staff, parents, and visitors at all times.
• Implement and monitor compliance with the EYFS statutory framework.
• Manage medication administration and keep care plans up to date.
• Provide age‑appropriate, purposeful experiences and resources for children.
• Communicate effectively with staff, families, and external partners.
• Motivate the team with creative ideas and challenges to achieve outstanding practice.
• Undertake additional duties to ensure smooth nursery operations.

Required profile

• Full Level 3 Childcare qualification (essential).
• Minimum 1 year experience working in Early Years settings (essential).
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework and regulatory requirements (essential).
