Nursing Auxiliary – Orthopaedic Ward

About the role

The National Treatment Centre Ward is seeking a self‑motivated Nursing Auxiliary to join a multidisciplinary team delivering pre‑ and post‑operative care for elective orthopaedic surgery patients. This role offers both full‑time and part‑time options and involves rotating day and night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with pre‑operative and post‑operative patient care on a 33‑bed orthopaedic ward.
• Support the multidisciplinary team in delivering evidence‑based, high‑quality care.
• Participate in the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) programme to optimise patient rehabilitation.
• Work flexibly across day and night shifts, including admissions area duties.
• Maintain accurate patient records and follow clinical protocols.

Required profile

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Adaptable to change and committed to delivering high‑quality patient care.
• Strong interest in orthopaedic nursing; prior orthopaedic experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Willingness to obtain PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) membership.
• Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
