Nutrition Compliance Manager (9-12 month maternity cover)

About the role

This is a high‑impact, strategic position leading the nutrition compliance agenda for NHS Supply Chain: Food. The role is a 9‑12 month maternity cover contract, based primarily at home with required travel across the UK to engage NHS Trusts and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a nutrition and compliance strategy roadmap covering short, medium and long‑term objectives.
• Drive compliance with Hospital Food Standards, public health targets and wider government food regulations.
• Create and maintain performance frameworks, including supplier scorecards and compliance tracking tools.
• Partner with category teams to influence supplier nutritional policies and identify improvement opportunities.
• Audit, monitor and improve compliance performance in collaboration with NHS Trust stakeholders.
• Support tender processes and specification development to ensure nutritional and regulatory standards are met.
• Champion plant‑forward and wellbeing‑focused food initiatives.
• Deliver internal dietetic training and provide expert guidance to procurement, culinary and account management teams.
• Represent the organisation at industry forums, networking events and external engagements.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified in Nutrition or Dietetics.
• Registered Dietitian or Nutritionist (HCPC or UKVRN).
• Significant experience in nutrition, dietetics or compliance‑focused roles.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all organisational levels.
