Occupational Therapist – Children’s Mental Health (CAMHS)

About the role

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our Children’s Services team within North CAMHS at Woodside Health & Care Centre. The post focuses on supporting young people up to 18 years old who experience mental health difficulties and neuro‑developmental challenges, working alongside a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a defined caseload, delivering assessment, planning and implementation of OT interventions for children and young people.
• Work autonomously while collaborating with multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency partners to ensure coordinated care.
• Use clinical reasoning to assess needs, develop treatment plans and evaluate outcomes in line with best practice.
• Communicate complex information clearly and compassionately to children, families and professionals.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service data collection, audit and governance activities.
• Support and supervise students and healthcare support workers as appropriate.
• Participate in continuous service development through training, audit and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified Occupational Therapist (registration with the HCPC).
• Interest in working with children and young people with mental health and neuro‑developmental issues.
• Experience in mental health or paediatrics is desirable but not essential.
• Commitment to reflective practice, evidence‑based interventions and ongoing professional development.
