Operations Analyst Summer Internship 2027 - London

About the role

Barclays is recruiting a Summer Intern for its Operations Analyst programme in London, based at Canary Wharf. The internship lasts 10 weeks and gives students in their penultimate year of university hands-on experience in the Operations team, which keeps payments, credit card systems and trades running. The role supports the day-to-day operations of the operations business division, giving insights that help senior colleagues make decisions, develop products and spot new market opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform KYC tasks following Client Due Diligence and AML procedures
• Monitor real-time transaction flow, trade updates and exception queues so trades are represented accurately across systems
• Handle incident, problem and change management issues to improve services across the bank
• Support continuous improvement of operational processes and the development of best practices
• Support cleared derivatives, including daily reconciliation of related fees
• Carry out complex customer and product-related processing activities
• Take part in training and development programmes

Required profile

• Student in the penultimate year of university, graduating in 2028
• Customer-first mindset and curiosity about what's next
• Quick to adapt, eager to explore new technologies and able to turn complex data into clear stories
• Must have their own legal right to work in the UK from June 2027 to August 2027; Barclays accepts applications from candidates needing visa sponsorship and provides a skilled worker visa if eligible
