Operations Manager – Store Operations

About the role

As an Operations Manager at ASDA you will be responsible for delivering excellent execution across a large‑format store in Newton Abbot. You will embed consistent routines that improve product availability, reduce waste and shrink, and uphold high store standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review and optimise store processes to meet key performance metrics for availability, waste and shrink.
• Lead, coach and develop managers and teams across Ambient, Fresh, George and General Merchandising departments.
• Ensure contract‑base management, wage control and POS best‑practice are followed throughout the shop floor.
• Drive a culture of empathy, transparency and ownership, encouraging open conversation and collaborative problem‑solving.
• Promote healthy competition on the trading floor and embed the “Asdaness” in daily operations.

Required profile

• Result‑focused with a passion for getting things done correctly the first time.
• Commercially aware of how availability, waste and shrink impact store performance.
• Strong leadership and coaching ability to develop future talent.
• Organised, efficient and able to thrive in a fast‑paced retail environment.
