Operations Manager – Transport & Waste Services

About the role

Windsor Waste Management is seeking a dynamic Operations Manager to lead transport, hazardous‑waste facilities and remote site operations. You will ensure compliance, cost‑effectiveness and high customer satisfaction across a busy, regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee transport, hazardous‑waste facilities and remote locations in line with legislation and company policy.
• Deliver cost‑effective, efficient services within budget while maximising profit.
• Maintain and develop supplier relationships to support operational performance.
• Plan and execute day‑to‑day transport operations, maximising vehicle utilisation and meeting service level agreements.
• Ensure QHSE provisions meet regulatory standards and retain company accreditations.
• Review, update and implement group, operational and transport policies, risk assessments and safe working practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a fast‑paced transport department, preferably within the waste industry.
• Transport Manager CPC qualification (COTC desirable) and up‑to‑date knowledge of drivers’ hours and working time regulations.
• Experience managing drivers and staff who work away from base.
• Strong health & safety background, ideally with a NEBOSH qualification.
• Ability to develop and coach a diverse team in line with company development processes.
• Excellent planning and communication skills.
