Outreach Worker – Homelessness Support (Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Outreach Worker to join a specialised homelessness service in Westminster on a temporary ongoing basis. The role involves engaging rough sleepers and vulnerable adults, helping them access essential services and move towards sustainable accommodation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct outreach sessions to engage rough sleepers and vulnerable adults.
• Build positive, trauma‑informed relationships with clients.
• Complete needs and risk assessments and develop personalised support plans.
• Assist clients in accessing emergency accommodation, healthcare, benefits and other essential services.
• Collaborate with local authorities, housing providers, health services and partner agencies.
• Maintain accurate case notes and ensure records are up‑to‑date.
• Promote independence and support clients towards long‑term housing solutions.

Required profile

• Previous experience in homelessness, outreach, supported housing or floating support services.
• Experience supporting individuals with complex needs such as mental health issues, substance misuse, offending backgrounds or rough sleeping.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and risk management.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
• Immediate availability and a genuine passion for making a difference.
